The Music Retreat Program is basically “an open book” approach to each student as it relates to their needs. The premise is for students ranging age 12-29, who would travel to the Elkins Park area and work with me intensively (recommended time about five to seven days). For students aged 12-17, it would be compulsory that they have a parent/guardian with them. Reserving an Air BnB somehwere near where I live would be encouraged as all lessons would be conducted in my main living room, and/or in a classroom setting if a guest would be giving a violin masterclass. Lessons would occur daily, with a mix of work on technique, current repertorie being studied, and as well, chamber music ranging from duos to string quartets. For students who work with me weekly, they understand that an hour and a half is normally the bare minimum amount of time spent for lessons. For in-person lessons in a concentrated amount of time, lesson time would vary based on individual needs (ie tho: most likely, *more time would be spent to establish some basic understandings of concepts). For professional students who are potentially planning to take an audition(s), I would help with improving their goals. In short: The program would be up to the individual and their current needs as a violinist and musician. Elkins Park is a very enjoyable and quiet suburb of Philadelphia. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the music retreat, as it would promise to be a really enjoyable experience.
